Newsletter 18th July 2022

Dear parents and carers,

I cannot believe this will be my last newsletter for this academic year! This year has flown by but looking back as a school we have done and achieved a great deal. We are so proud of how far we have come and are excited already for the year ahead. Thank you to all the staff in school for their continued hard work, dedication, passion and enthusiasm, it is a joy to come to school everyday!

Thank you to all the parents who have joined us in school this week for our end of year celebrations. It has been lovely to see you and catch up with you all. Thank you all for your continued support this year, I am so incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of this amazing school.

I hope you all have an enjoyable summer break together. There are lots of fun and free activities available over the summer, when I see these I will add them to the school social media for you!

We look forward to welcoming the children back on Wednesday 7th September and wish all our Year 2 children luck on their first day at South Kirkby Academy.

Goodbye Mrs Conway

Mrs Conway will be leaving our school this week to take up a teaching assistant post in her new school in Rotherham. She will have a friendly face to help her feel welcome, Mr Dunkley who some of you may remember will be working with Mrs Conway. We would like to thank Mrs Conway for her hard work and dedication and wish her all the best for her new adventure.

We are recruiting…

Breakfast Club supervisory assistant (Temporary) Mon – Fri (5 hours)
Common Road Infant School would like to appoint a breakfast club supervisory assistant to support children at breakfast club. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and flexible and who would be willing to lead a range of games, story times, think creatively about fun activities for our breakfast club pupils. They will need to prepare a simple breakfast for the children and supervise/support them when eating. They will need to be a good team player and a good communicator to work effectively in our team of breakfast club supervisors. They will need to support school policies and systems to ensure breakfast club is a positive, safe and enjoyable time for all who attend.

Midday supervisor (Temporary) Mon – Fri (6.25 hours)
Common Road Infant School would like to appoint a midday supervisor to support children at lunchtime. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and flexible. The role includes responsibility for a class family at lunch, supporting children eating their lunch, encouraging good manners and ensuring lunch time is a happy, sociable occasion for all pupils. The role also includes leading a range of games during the play element of lunchtimes. They will need to be a good team player and a good communicator to work effectively in our team of midday supervisors. They will need to support school policies and systems to ensure lunch time is a positive, safe and enjoyable time.

Classroom Teaching Assistant (Permanent) Mon – Fri (27.5 hours)
Common Road Infant School would like to appoint a permanent teaching assistant to join our school family. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, passionate, hardworking and dedicated to working with our very young children. They will work under the direction of the class teacher and will play a crucial role in supporting children with their learning and development. They will be expected to complete relevant training linked to their role and use this to develop their practice further.

Interested applicants will need to complete an application form and provide two suitable references, one of the references will need to be from the applicant’s current or most recent employer. Application packs are available from the school office. The closing date for application forms will be Friday 9th September 2022 at 12 noon.

Class teacher (Permanent)
Finally, we are looking to appoint a class teacher to join our team! We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented and ambitious teacher to join our school as it begins an exciting new chapter. Common Road Infant and Nursery School was judged as ‘Good’ by OFSTED (November 2021) a judgment the school is extremely proud of!

We are looking for a teacher with the passion, dedication and commitment to becoming the best in their field to join us on our journey to becoming an outstanding school. We welcome all teachers regardless of teaching experience to come and look at our school and meet our staff team.

We strongly recommend visits to the school if you are interested in this exciting opportunity. We will be inviting candidates into school Tuesday 13th September 2022 at 10am and 4pm to have a tour of the school and also meet the staff team, to book a place please contact the school office on 01977 651918.
